On Sunday, the Lakers relied heavily on Austin Reaves, as Luka Doncic remained out of the game for at least a week due to injuries.

Reaves answered the call, carrying the Lakers on his shoulders with 51 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists. And two steals in 39 minutes of play.

He made 12 of 22 field goals, including 6 of 10 from three-point range, and converted 21 of 22 free throws. Cementing his status as a reliable player in critical moments.

Reaves brilliant track record in the absence of stars like Luka Doncic and LeBron James demonstrates his ability to lead.

This year alone, Reaves has led the team in three games without the presence of the superstars. On February 8 against the Indiana Pacers, he scored 45 points with seven assists.

Then, against the Denver Nuggets on March 14, he recorded a double-double with 37 points and 13 assists.
