New legal documents reveal that Patrick Mahomes father failed to attend a court-ordered drug test just two days after the Super Bowl. A Texas prosecutor has requested that he wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet due to this violation and other recent incidents.
For the second consecutive year, a judge allowed Patrick Mahomes Sr. to travel to the Super Bowl despite his recent guilty plea for driving under the influence. His record shows that he was arrested with a blood alcohol level of 0.23 during a traffic stop on February 3, 2024. Reports indicate that this was at least his sixth DUI arrest and his eleventh overall since 2009.

While speculation suggests the incident may have been a publicity stunt to promote a potential boxing match between the two former Major League Baseball pitchers, a Texas prosecutor did not take the matter lightly.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, on Thursday, a Smith County, Texas, prosecutor, along with a community supervision officer, filed a request with a judge to require Mahomes Sr. to wear an alcohol monitoring device.
Monitoring with portable technology
“The defendant, Patrick Mahomes Sr., due to his frequent travels outside Smith County for sporting events, must carry a portable alcohol monitoring device when not operating a vehicle,” the court petition states.
