Sophie Cunningham, shooting guard for the Indiana Fever, is ready to temporarily swap basketball for golf clubs, though she humorously admits she’s unsure how long she’ll last on the course.

This week, Cunningham will serve as caddie for her teammate Caitlin Clark at the Annika Sorenstam Pro-Am in Clearwater, Florida, joining LPGA star Nelly Korda on Team Clark.

In the latest episode of her podcast Show Me Something, Cunningham joked about the upcoming event. “I hope they don’t take it too seriously, or they’ll kick me out of the group.”

Her comment isn’t surprising, Cunningham had already confused the basic golf warning term when announcing her caddie role on Instagram. Writing “¡Cuatro!” instead of the correct “Fore!” before Clark quickly corrected her.

Despite her lack of experience, Sophie Cunningham and fellow Fever teammate Lexie Hull volunteered as caddies after Clark LPGA participation was announced.

Their inclusion was confirmed by The Annika, and Wednesday’s event promises both fun and spectacle, on and off the green.
