Lexie Hull, the talented Indiana Fever player, experienced one of the most worrying moments of her career this Tuesday against the Seattle Storm.

In the first half of the game, Hull collided head-on with $225,000 star Gabby Williams, and the impact left a tennis ball-sized bump on her head, which she could see with her peripheral vision.

Fears of a possible concussion arose immediately, heightening intrigue and concern among fans and women’s basketball experts.

Despite the blow, Lexie Hull quickly decided to return to the court. After a swift first assist, she didn’t hesitate to rejoin the game with a quick-release three-pointer, showing a determination that left spectators stunned.

“Honestly, it looks better now than when it happened, so I hope this is a big success. I could see it with my own eyes,” Hull told reporter Brian Haenchen.

Her ability to prioritize the team despite the injury underscores her competitive spirit and commitment to Indiana Fever.

A recovery that defies the odds

Hull’s bravery did not go unnoticed. Her mother, Jaime Hull, General Manager Amber Cox, and her teammates praised her for continuing to play despite the apparent severity of the hit.

Lexie Hull finished the game with five points, nine rebounds, and a +/− of 31, the team’s best mark, contributing decisively to the Fever’s 95-75 victory and keeping their playoff hopes alive.

The injury, which initially could have been devastating, ultimately was not serious. This represents a huge relief for Indiana Fever, who were already dealing with five players sidelined by various injuries.

Including Caitlin Clark, out indefinitely, and others such as Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson, and Chloe Bibby, whose seasons had already ended.

Indiana Fever fighting spirit and the playoffs ahead

With the season reaching a critical point, Lexie Hull return reinforces the team’s resilience in their battle for the final playoff spots against the LA Sparks, Seattle Storm, and Golden State Valkyries.

Hull rapid return to the court not only saved Tuesday’s game but also symbolizes the team’s determination to overcome obstacles and keep their WNBA aspirations alive.
