Caitlin Clark, star point guard for the Indiana Fever, has taken a surprising step off the court by partnering with Eli Lilly, the Forbes-listed pharmaceutical company projecting $10.6 billion in earnings in 2025.

The collaboration, focused on promoting proper nutrition for children, was unveiled on Sunday with the release of the video “Back to School with Lilly”, in which Clark speaks directly with a group of young people about perseverance, emotions, and her passion for basketball.

In a touching moment of the campaign, 15-year-old Michelle asked Caitlin Clark what the “hardest truth” she has faced as both a player and a person has been. Clark paused thoughtfully before responding:

“I’m so competitive and emotional sometimes that it can be really tough. That’s probably why I’m good at basketball, because I’m passionate and competitive. Learning to channel that energy at the right time is something I’ve had to overcome throughout my career.”

Former teammates have praised Clark combative character. Kate Martin, now with the Golden State Valkyries, said Clark never wanted to lose at anything, while Lexie Hull, her teammate on the Fever, agreed that her fiery nature is part of her greatness.

The key for Clark has been learning to express her competitiveness at the right moments, a principle she applies both in games and in everyday life.

In the same conversation, 12-year-old Delaney asked how Clark could stay energetic despite running up and down the court.

The player explained that she mentally forces herself not to feel tired, showing that mental strength is just as important as physical. Additionally, the WNBA star revealed her favorite shot: the three-pointer.

“Three-pointers! Easy. Not even a question,” Caitlin Clark said confidently. During her historic rookie season in 2024, she made 122 three-pointers, approaching Sabrina Ionescu single-season record.

And although injuries limited her games in 2025, her ability to shoot from long range remains a defining feature of her game.
