Angel Reese has faced a challenging 2025 season with the Chicago Sky. The team failed to make the playoffs and risks surpassing their poor 2024 record of 13-27; currently, they stand at 9-29 after a loss to the Phoenix Mercury.

Despite the struggles, the 23-year-old forward has remained a bright spot for the Windy City franchise.

She is averaging 14.4 points with a 46.5% field goal percentage and leads the league with 12.6 rebounds per game, proving that even in tough times, her talent remains undeniable.

A tough season on the court doesn’t dim Angel Reese shine

Despite the team’s collective disappointment, Reese has shone off the court. The Sky star released her first signature shoe with Reebok and was announced as the cover athlete for the WNBA edition of NBA 2K26.

Amid this success, Angel Reese couldn’t hide her excitement upon seeing her billboard on Chicago’s West Side.

“I never take this moment for granted, but I’m so grateful,” Angel Reese wrote on social media alongside a collage of the billboard photos. “Having an NBA2K cover and my first autographed shoe in the city I play for! Wow!”

The tribute highlights not only her impact as a player but also the strong connection she has built with the city and Sky fans.

Preparing for a big offseason and a promising future

As the regular season winds down, all eyes will be on Angel Reese and how the Chicago Sky plans to build around their star.

The arrival of a new coach and a more experienced core had raised hopes for progress after missing the playoffs in 2024, but injuries, including Courtney Vandersloot’s season-ending setback, and Reese back issues limited the team’s potential.

Still, the young forward remains the centerpiece of the Sky, and her on-court performance and off-court popularity make her the focal point for the team’s rebuilding efforts.

The offseason will be crucial to strengthen the supporting cast and maximize Angel Reese talent, with the hope that Chicago can turn the frustrations of 2025 into a push toward playoff success.
