The death of Diego Armando Maradona, one of the most iconic football players of all time, continues to spark controversy.

Recently, the autopsy revealed the heartbreaking truth about his final moments, leaving everyone in shock.

The Argentine legend Diego Maradona, who passed away in November 2020, spent his last hours in endless agony, without receiving adequate medical care.

A prolonged agony, Diego Maradona suffered for 12 hours

According to forensic experts, Diego Maradona did not die suddenly, as many believed. The autopsy revealed that he suffered for 12 long hours, as doctors found his heart enlarged, weighing more than normal and filled with blood clots.

Furthermore, doctors discovered that his body was accumulating fluid in various organs due to heart failure. During all this time, Maradona was in deplorable conditions, without his doctors making an appropriate diagnosis.

Carlos Mauricio Casinelli, the forensic expert who presented the details to the court, showed shocking images that confirmed the signs of agony.

He stated that any competent doctor could have detected Diego Maradona severe condition with a simple examination, but it appears this did not happen.

“His heart was covered in fat and clots, which indicates he had been suffering long before he died,” Casinelli affirmed.

Deplorable conditions and medical responsibility

The situation in which Diego Armando Maradona spent his final days was equally alarming. Casinelli described the conditions of the room where they kept him:

“It was a dark, poorly equipped room, with a bed and a portable toilet. It didn’t seem suitable for a home hospitalization,” he said.

The court is prosecuting the doctors who attended to Maradona for manslaughter, and they could face severe consequences if they prove their negligence.

Diego Maradona family and fans are still waiting for answers about how people of his stature could have abandoned him in his final hours.
