Cristiano Ronaldo gave a sharp response to a journalist during a press conference before Portugal’s match against Denmark. The football star did not hide his frustration when faced with what he considered “disrespectful” questions.
After Portugal’s 1-0 defeat to Denmark in the Nations League, Ronaldo has been under constant scrutiny regarding his decisions. In fact, his performance did not meet expectations—he failed to make a single accurate shot on goal and barely touched the ball during the 90-minute match.
A challenging confrontation
During the press conference, journalists did not hold back. They questioned whether the team lacked intensity and conditions to put on a good show for the full 90 minutes.
Ronaldo quickly fired back, saying defiantly: “There is a lot of negativity around the national team… I have watched some of the press conferences in the past few days, and I didn’t like what I saw. Honestly, some of the questions were just disrespectful.”
He continued: “If you want answers from me, look me in the eyes when you ask… There’s no point in asking me something and then looking at your computer. You’ll have time for that later. If necessary, I’ll say it ten times… If Portugal has to win and I don’t play, I’ll sign for it.”
Regarding general pressure, the Al Nassr player acknowledged the tension: “The atmosphere is tense. I won’t hide it… We need to win, but that’s the beauty of football. Tomorrow, I call on the fans to support us, to give us their strength, because we will try to do our best. My hope is that tomorrow will be a beautiful day for everyone.”
“I have lost matches in 90 minutes, but I have never lost in the first half. Tomorrow is the second half… There are games like this, there are bad days. I didn’t play well, the team didn’t play well, but that’s life,” Ronaldo emphasized.
