Travis Kelce and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, had the opportunity to make history on Sunday night, standing just one victory away from achieving a three-peat in the Super Bowl for the first time. However, they failed to accomplish it and were defeated by Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles with a final score of 40-22.
The offense struggled in the first half and failed to score any points. In fact, the Chiefs did not reach the end zone until there was less than a minute left in the third quarter. By that time, the scoreboard already showed a 34-0 lead in favor of Philadelphia. Two first-half turnovers by Patrick Mahomes contributed to securing the victory for the Eagles.

A video shows Kelce lack of effort

Just one day after the Super Bowl, on Monday, a new video began circulating online, showing a specific play by the Chiefs up close. The footage captures Eagles defensive end Josh Sweat getting past Kelce as he attempts to block him, just before taking down Mahomes for a sack.
While some NFL fans argue that Kelce move was part of the designed play, others believe the tight end did not put in enough effort and barely touched the defender. Many took to social media to share their opinions.

Social media criticism

Fans wasted no time in expressing their opinions on social media, commenting that Travis Kelce gave up on the play and made little to no effort to block his opponent effectively.
Kelce fifth Super Bowl ended with just four receptions for 39 yards. However, like the rest of the offense, he had a quiet first half in terms of stats, failing to record a single reception.

The Chiefs will head into the offseason with anticipation surrounding the potential retirement of Travis Kelce. If he decides to continue playing, he will have the chance to compete for another Super Bowl next season and aim for the ultimate glory.
