Stephen A. Smith once again captured media attention by sharply criticizing former President Donald Trump over a Truth Social post concerning the tragic deaths of actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, who were stabbed at their Los Angeles home last Sunday.

Trump’s post suggested that the couple’s deaths were linked to his dissatisfaction with his presidency, a comment Smith labeled as insensitive and completely inappropriate.

On his SiriusXM radio show Straight Shooter, Stephen A. Smith expressed his outrage. “When someone is murdered, it’s not the time to be arrogant or imply they deserved it. Violence should never be justified, and you would expect the President of the United States to understand that better than anyone,” he stated.

Smith emphasized the importance of decency and empathy, especially when addressing such recent and painful tragedies.

He also reminded audiences that during Trump first term, Rob Reiner had strongly criticized the former president, calling him “mentally unfit” and “unqualified” to hold office. According to Smith, Trump reaction shows a troubling disregard for human sensitivity and ethics in public communication.

The controversy didn’t stop at politics. On Monday, Stephen A. Smith also addressed American football, suggesting that Tom Brady leave his Fox commentator role to take a more active position in the operations of the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Put Tom Brady in charge, Mark Davis. You need every bit of help possible to turn the team around,” Smith said on First Take.

Given that the Raiders have lost eight consecutive games and hold a 2-12 record, Smith believes Brady experience and leadership could be pivotal in reversing the team’s negative streak.

With his direct and incisive style, Stephen A. Smith once again demonstrates his ability to merge sports and political commentary, sparking debate and capturing media attention.

Whether criticizing Trump or offering NFL insights, Smith continues to intrigue and engage his audience. Cementing his role as a provocative and influential voice in American media.
