“I’m not going to get into details. Obviously, I’m proud of him and this offense, and there’s a lot to learn, but I’m only going to worry about today. I’ll take my time and do what’s best for the team,” said the coach, leaving Sanders continuation as QB1 against Dillon Gabriel uncertain.
Confidence and a message to doubters
Shedeur Sanders, meanwhile, shared his excitement after the win and did not hide his satisfaction. “It’s incredible. I’m really grateful that all of this happened,” he said during the postgame interview, showing the composure with which he embraced his role.
The NFL also recognized his performance, posting a viral clip of Sanders celebrating his first touchdown with his signature wristwatch pose.
The young QB used the press conference to send a clear message to those who doubted him. “Everyone starts in a different place, that’s no excuse. A lot of people want to see me fail, and it’s not going to happen.”
Sanders also highlighted how he adapted his personality and playing style to the demands of being a starter, showing maturity and leadership despite his NFL inexperience.
