Deion Sanders shows strength alongside Bucky after surgery
“I get a lot of well-wishes from people saying, ‘You have to slow down.’ It’s hereditary. It is what it is,” Deion Sanders said, showing positivity despite the medical challenges.
The Prime Coach has faced serious health issues, including the amputation of two toes in 2021 and multiple prior surgeries to address blood clots, raising concerns among Colorado fans and NFL followers alike.

Optimism and return to practice: Deion Sanders message
Despite the obstacles, Deion Sanders maintains his characteristic optimism and humor. In April, he also faced a bladder cancer diagnosis that required removal and reconstruction using part of his small intestine.
However, Sanders remains confident and motivated, joking about his recovery: “I call it Snoop DO-double-G. I’ve never been high in my life… but when they operate on me, I’ll make it on time!”
The Prime Coach also shared details about his return to practice, reassuring fans that he expects to rejoin the team quickly.
“Hopefully, I’ll be back right away tomorrow (Wednesday), because I don’t miss practices. We have a wonderful team of doctors and coaches to ensure everyone’s health.”
Colorado, with a 2-4 record this season and winless in the Big 12, finds in Deion Sanders resilience an example of strength and leadership.
His combination of medical care, positive attitude, and bond with Bucky reinforces the spirit of a team facing adversity both on and off the field.
Deion Sanders once again demonstrates that family, determination, and unwavering faith can overcome even the toughest moments in life and in sports.
