Unlike last year, when Lamb missed the start of training camp due to contract issues with the Dallas Cowboys, this time he’s been present from day one.

His commitment to the Dallas Cowboys has been complete, even participating in Dak Prescott annual retreat in Georgia, where George Pickens, recently acquired from Pittsburgh, also joined.

Prescott has made it clear: the impact of having both receivers working early is monumental. The word isn’t accidental. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback has used it repeatedly to refer to both the talent and chemistry that are already starting to show in this offense.

According to data shared by Kimes, Lamb and Pickens rank among the best deep-ball receivers in recent years.

In 2023, Lamb ranked fourth and Pickens eighth in yards per game against single-high coverage. And looking at the last three years, both are in the Top 5 in deep receptions.

The Dallas Cowboys may talk about strengthening their run game, but their true competitive edge might lie 40 yards beyond the line of scrimmage.

With two weapons capable of winning through speed, route-running, or physicality, opposing defenses will have to choose between dropping everyone back or risking one-on-one coverage.

And for a quarterback like Prescott, who has shown he can throw accurately and aggressively downfield, the decision might become simple: throw where it hurts the most.
