Aaron Glenn expressed concern after the New York Jets narrow 27-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns, hinting that the team’s offense still raises questions.

Despite the final score, Justin Fields inconsistent performance remains a point of intrigue for the New York franchise.

Aaron Glenn warns of offensive inconsistencies

Aaron Glenn highlighted the offense’s inability to find rhythm in the first half. “I wasn’t happy with the offense or the defense overall during the first half. But I think in the second half we did some things that gave us a chance to win, and at the end of the day, that’s all that matters,” the coach said in his press conference.

The ground game led by Breece Hall and special teams temporarily saved the Jets, with kickoff and punt returns resulting in explosive touchdowns, while Fields struggled to complete effective passes and made key mistakes.

The quarterback completed just 3 passes for 5 yards in the first half, threw an interception, and was sacked three times.

Although he improved slightly in the second half, his offensive errors kept Glenn on alert.

The veteran coach emphasized that winning games isn’t enough if consistency is lacking, making it clear that Fields must elevate his level to keep the team competitive in the AFC East.

Justin Fields and the pressure from Aaron Glenn

At 26, Justin Fields has shown flashes of talent, but his inconsistent performances create uncertainty.

Aaron Glenn acknowledges that the quarterback has the ability to lead the team. But his struggles reading defenses and tendency to get sacked threaten to limit the Jets’ offensive potential.

With 1,143 passing yards and 6 touchdowns in eight games. Fields has yet to reach the expected level after being acquired as the team’s leader.

Glenn stressed that improvement must be immediate; the ground game helps. But the quarterback needs to translate his skill into sustainable victories.

Pressure is mounting as the Jets seek to solidify their play. And Aaron Glenn is already evaluating how to keep Fields on track to meet franchise expectations and ensure a competitive future.
