TCU claims Big 12 title in a thrilling finish

The TCU women’s basketball team closed out the regular season with an electrifying 51-48 victory over Baylor, securing the Big 12 Conference title. With a 16-2 record, the Horned Frogs edged out Baylor (15-3) in a winner-takes-all showdown.

The high-stakes battle in Wasco, Texas, between two state powerhouses lived up to the hype. With this win, TCU extended its winning streak to seven games and heads into the Big 12 tournament with unstoppable momentum.

Hailey Van Lith, the game-changer

Hailey Van Lith made a statement with 14 crucial points. In her first season with TCU, the former Louisville and LSU guard has proven to be a key player in the Horned Frogs’ success.


Following the victory, TCU summed up Van Lith’s impact in just three words:
“One of one,” they posted on X.

After a challenging season at LSU, where her performance fell short of expectations, Van Lith chose to transfer to TCU for her final year.
The move has paid off, as she now averages 17.7 points per game (the second-highest of her career). And has set a personal best with 5.5 assists per game.

Additionally, her field goal percentage has soared to 45.6%, the highest of her career.


With the conference title secured, TCU now looks ahead to the Big 12 tournament. Where they hold the No. 1 seed and will debut on March 7 against the winner of Arizona vs. Houston/Colorado.
