Things aren’t looking good for Arch Manning. Every time he takes a step forward, another blow sends him back to the “Nepo QB” label. Just when it seemed like the storm was dying down, it explodes. The college football legend steps into the scene, and on his podcast, he drops a bomb: “No, he’s not that guy.”
And this isn’t just a comment from a Twitter troll or some random fan on a podcast. This time, it’s a key figure in the world of college football, a former first-round pick who knows the game like few others. Dave Pollack’s words hit hard.
On February 18, Pollack appeared on his own podcast The Dave Pollack College Football Podcast, and alongside CFB expert Brent Rollins, they addressed one of the most crucial questions regarding Manning future.

Is Arch really ready to take control of the QB1 position at Texas?

Pollack’s response left no room for doubt: “I don’t think he’s one of the top five quarterbacks in college football. There are good guys, but honestly, I wrote down several names before his.”

Pollack went on to name other players he considers superior, like Klubnik, Allar, Nussmeier, and others, even highlighting some up-and-coming talents.
And what about Arch Manning? Pollack is clear that he’ll be in the conversation for one of the best, but doubts him as the “number one”: “I see him as one of the best in the SEC, but I don’t see him stepping onto the field and saying, ‘This is the guy who’s going to win the Heisman.’” A direct blow to Manning ego.

Arch Manning track record

While it can’t be denied that Arch had his shot, with Quinn Ewers dealing with injuries, and showed flashes of talent in his 10 games last year, his numbers weren’t enough to clear the doubts.
With 939 yards and 9 touchdowns, it seems it wasn’t enough for Pollack to see him as the future star many expect. Is Arch Manning the real deal, or just a myth crumbling over time?
