The Los Angeles Lakers are actively considering signing star players based on Luka Doncic’s opinions. At least, that’s the rumor circulating around the NBA right now. Who’s their next target? A player praised by Doncic.

Contrary to expectations, the Slovenian has adapted very well to the Lakers’ roster. His relationship with the team is solid, and now he’s helping the franchise scout top defensive reinforcements—especially since LeBron James has not yet announced whether he will stay for the next season. Better to prepare now than be caught off guard.

The goal is a full comeback

After being eliminated in last season’s playoffs, the Lakers aim to rebuild their roster for a strong comeback. According to a report from Bolavip, sources suggest that Doncic will now become the cornerstone of the Lakers’ lineup.

If James is considering retirement, it’s time for new NBA stars to rise in Los Angeles. According to Grant Afseth from Dallas Hoops Journal, the franchise is exploring the possibility of signing Jrue Holiday, a former Boston Celtics player.

Although Holiday was traded from the Celtics to the Portland Trail Blazers at the start of the offseason, the Lakers could shift his trajectory. This possibility has fans excited because they know what Holiday’s presence could mean for the Lakers.

Doncic considers the ex-Celtic one of the NBA’s best defenders, especially during the NBA Finals. “Jrue is one of the best—if not the best—guard defender I’ve faced. I don’t think he gets enough credit for his defensive ability. It’s really tough to go against him… I’m surprised he’s never won Defensive Player of the Year or something like that,” Doncic said.

With 16 years in the NBA, Holiday stands out as a top veteran option for the Lakers, who are determined to recover from last season and secure a solid spot next year.
