As usual, LeBron James is making headlines again. This time, he alarmed NBA fans by posting an image of himself training at facilities other than those of the Los Angeles Lakers. Instantly, trade rumors exploded about a possible move for the king of the court.

Was it just another strategy by James to grab attention? Probably—but even so, he left purple and gold fans on edge. It seems like a response to recent league reports. Many of them suggest that the Lakers would prefer him to retire after the 2025-26 season.

A confusing message that blew up social media

According to a report by Sportskeeda, LeBron James posted an image on his official Instagram account showing him training—but at the Clippers’ facilities. Is he thinking about joining the Lakers’ biggest rivals in the future?

“Say what you want, but you sure as hell can’t say I didn’t do the WORK! 👑 … We’ll see what happens when it’s gone. Man F this Shhhhhh,” wrote the NBA superstar in the caption.

However, it seems to be yet another one of James’ familiar provocations. Dallas Hoops Journal dismissed the idea that the king of the court wants to leave the Lakers. In fact, the outlet stated: “LeBron was training at a Klutch Sports Group office… Klutch uses the Clippers’ former facilities in Playa Vista. This isn’t a story.”

They also urged fans not to believe everything on social media, posting: “People need to stop reading into everything LeBron does. Besides, LeBron will never play for the Clippers. He’s told people in his circle that many times.”
