JJ Redick delivered a scathing critique of his Los Angeles Lakers team following their defeat against the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Monday night, closing the game with a 111-108 loss.

A night to forget in Brooklyn

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a painful 111-108 defeat against the Brooklyn Nets, exposing serious flaws within the team.

Without LeBron James on the court and missing key players, the Lakers struggled to keep up, a reality that left head coach JJ Redick visibly frustrated.

Instead of blaming the loss on missing personnel, Redick made it clear in his post-game press conference that the real issue was the team’s attitude.

“I don’t think the lack of personnel is an excuse for how we played tonight. Communication was nonexistent, and the mentality was all about taking shortcuts,” JJ Redick stated, clearly exasperated.

The Lakers started strong, building a 15-point lead in the first quarter and holding the Nets to just 16 points. However, they quickly crumbled, making fundamental mistakes and displaying a concerning lack of cohesion.

“We couldn’t even pass the ball properly. We struggled to initiate our offense, resorting to setting screens near half-court. I have no idea what we were doing,” Redick said bluntly.

His words reflected deep frustration with a team that, on paper, should be competing at the highest level of the NBA.

Redick harsh message didn’t go unnoticed. Even Luka Dončić, one of the standout players of the night, took responsibility for the breakdown. “When JJ Redick pointed out the lack of communication, it really hit. That’s on me, and we should have done better,” Dončić admitted.

With this loss, the Lakers have now dropped two consecutive games, consequently putting their standing in the Western Conference at risk.

JJ Redick has sounded the alarm, either the team steps up soon, or things could get even more complicated as the season reaches its critical stage.
