A sacrifice that left its mark
Medical staff reacted immediately, rushing to his aid while collecting the remains from the brutal impact. Moments later, Duke Miles walked to the sidelines for further evaluation, just as Oklahoma was gaining momentum and extending its lead.
But the most astonishing moment was yet to come. In an incredible display of resilience, Miles returned to the court in the final minutes of the game. As if nothing had happened, he stepped up to the free-throw line and sank two crucial shots, helping to secure a pivotal victory for his team.

Oklahoma second-half comeback
Oklahoma had to claw its way back after trailing 37-34 at halftime. In a dominant second-half performance, the Sooners built a 14-point lead, though Mississippi State refused to back down and cut the deficit to just one possession in the final moments.
A clutch three-pointer by Claudell Harris Jr. brought the score to 90-87 with only 28 seconds remaining, but Oklahoma held firm, sealing the win with a series of free throws to claim a 93-87 victory.
David Fears led the offensive charge with 27 points, while Jalon Moore contributed 18, and Sam Godwin recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. The Sooners shined with an impressive 68% shooting accuracy in the second half, shutting down Mississippi State and securing a critical win on their path to the NCAA Tournament.
