Draymond Green, star of the Golden State Warriors, did not hesitate to share his opinion on young quarterback Caleb Williams and his future with the Chicago Bears.

Following Williams standout performance against the Dallas Cowboys, many fans had high expectations for the upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

However, Green raised doubts that have sparked immediate debate among football fans and experts.

Draymond Green questions Caleb Williams future with the Bears

In a recent podcast with Jordan Schulz, Draymond Green noted that while Williams is “strangely talented,” he is not convinced the quarterback can become a leader capable of guiding the Bears to a championship.

“I don’t think he’ll ever fully grasp it at the level you’d expect from a number one pick,” Green said, referencing the quarterback’s college history and his performance in critical moments at USC.

Expectations vs. reality: Green critical perspective

Draymond Green continued to emphasize that talent alone does not guarantee NFL success. Despite Williams accumulating 298 yards and four touchdowns in his last game, Green warned that this does not ensure the young quarterback will reach a Super Bowl, either in his early years or later.

“He had a good game; this is the first pick. He should have a good game,” he explained, adding firmly, “He’s not going to take you to a Super Bowl in the tenth year either.”

Green opinion has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some fans defending Williams and others questioning the NBA player’s judgment.

Some fans pointed out that comparisons with successful quarterbacks like Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson show that talent can translate into leadership with proper guidance.

Nevertheless, Draymond Green maintains his critical stance, focusing on Williams’ leadership ability. “What I wonder is if he can become a great leader. We haven’t seen that in his career yet,” he insisted.

His analysis highlights the pressure Williams faces in Chicago, a rebuilding team led by Ben Johnson, where every game and decision will shape the public and professional perception of the young quarterback.

With the Bears now facing a crucial challenge against the Raiders, Draymond Green perspective adds an extra layer of intrigue about whether Williams can live up to the expectations that come with being a number one overall pick.
