Draymond Green sets off alarms in the NBA again before the season has even officially begun. What seemed like a simple preseason matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors turned tense when the veteran power forward became the center of the most talked-about moment of the game. The atmosphere shifted completely just as the second quarter began.

It all started with a hard screen from Draymond Green that knocked down Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who is valued at $48 million.

In the middle of the scramble, Vanderbilt accidentally stumbled into Green. However, the four-time champion reacted with fury, reminding everyone why his temperament remains one of the league’s most polarizing topics. Several teammates quickly stepped in to prevent the confrontation from escalating further.

Draymond Green under scrutiny: a recurring pattern

Draymond Green reputation as a conflict magnet is nothing new, but what surprised fans was how quickly he sparked his first altercation of the season—it only took 12 minutes of the first quarter.

On social media platform X, users wasted no time bringing up his history with sarcasm, memes, and sharp criticism.

Meanwhile, Vanderbilt’s performance exposed Draymond Green in more ways than one.

The Lakers forward finished with nine points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals, showing notable improvement on offense.

Draymond Green, on the other hand, had just two points, three rebounds, five assists, and three turnovers, shooting a poor 1-for-6 from the field. Although it was his preseason debut, the easy mistakes fueled debate about his current form.

Warriors win, but Draymond Green fails to convince

Despite the incident and his modest offensive impact, the Warriors won 111-103. Moses Moody emerged as the unexpected standout with 19 points, while Steph Curry contributed 14 before resting in the second half.

Jimmy Butler added nine points in limited minutes, leaving a positive impression within Golden State’s structure.

The Lakers, meanwhile, once again played without LeBron James, Luka Doncic, or Austin Reaves. Gabe Vincent stepped up with 16 points and five assists, including three three-pointers, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
