Damian Lillard is considered one of the deadliest shooters in the NBA. Challenging him in a shooting contest without any reward seems like an almost impossible task for most people. Now, imagine facing him in a shooting challenge with a significant amount of money on the line. The pressure must be even greater than it appears.
A fan not only had the chance to challenge Lillard during the NBA All-Star weekend, but also surprised everyone by beating him, winning a prize of $100,000.
Mr. Beast made an appearance at the All-Star Game during a break, organizing a special challenge for a lucky fan.
What challenge did the fan need to complete to beat Damian Lillard?
The fan’s only challenge was to make one long-distance three-pointer before Damian Lillard made three.
And what happened? He did it. Look, I know the NBA plans to focus more on basketball in future editions of the game.
Damian Lillard
And, to be honest, I hate these kinds of challenges. It’s a competition between professionals and amateurs, but in this case, the amateur is an innocent young person who doesn’t irrationally think they’re a better shooter than Damian Lillard, just because they once hit three straight three-pointers in a high school game.
Personally, I don’t think it’s right to put $100,000 in that young person’s hands in that way. That said, I’m genuinely happy for him and for achieving that feat. A shout-out to Damian Lillard for missing those final shots.
I’m not saying he did it on purpose, but I can’t say it was by accident either.
