Tom Cruise sparked speculation about possible cosmetic surgery last night after debuting a new look while appearing in an ad before the Super Bowl.
Viewers commented that the 62-year-old actor’s appearance looked somewhat unusual during the commercial, which aired at the start of Sunday’s game.
His look was even more surprising given that just ten minutes earlier, a preview of his upcoming film, Mission: Impossible, had been shown, in which Cruise appeared as he normally does.

Experts’ explanation for Tom Cruise appearance

Cruise face looked unusually “puffy” and “tight” in the commercial, prompting plastic surgery specialists to suggest that he might have recently received facial fillers in his cheekbones.
They also speculated that he may have undergone botox treatment, which immobilizes muscles to minimize expression lines, and a laser rejuvenation procedure that removes damaged layers of skin to provide a more youthful appearance.

However, experts noted that there were no signs of more invasive procedures requiring surgery, pointing out that his skin showed natural sagging around the jawline—something that would not be present if he had undergone a facelift, for example.

Surgeons’ opinions

Dr. Gaurav Bharti, a cosmetic surgery specialist at HKB Cosmetic Surgery in Charlotte, North Carolina, stated: “I believe the most relevant aspect regarding Tom Cruise is that, over time, he has shown a rather favorable aging process.”
The most noticeable change is that the contour of his jawline has shifted, appearing slightly fuller during the Super Bowl and somewhat more elongated—rather than the sharp definition he usually has.
