David Benavidez did not hesitate to share his opinion on the highly anticipated matchup between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua, a fight that has captured the attention of the boxing world.

For the former super middleweight champion, the December 19 clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami represents a true test for Paul, far more demanding than the canceled exhibition with Gervonta Davis.

Benavidez analyzed the event with precision, making it clear that, in his view, Joshua enters as the heavy favorite.

David Benavidez warns about Jake Paul’s dangerous gamble

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, David Benavidez stated that the fight is extremely dangerous for Jake Paul. Emphasizing that facing Anthony Joshua is no small challenge.

“I have total respect for Jake Paul, but it’s a dangerous fight for him; he will probably get knocked out,” Benavidez said, highlighting the skill gap between a social media influencer turned boxer and a multi-time Olympic medalist.

Benavidez recalled what happened with Francis Ngannou, the former UFC heavyweight champion. Who was knocked down in the first round and finished in the second by Joshua.

“The last time someone with little boxing experience faced him in the ring was Ngannou, and we already saw what happened to him,” he added.

This comparison serves as a clear warning about the risks Paul faces in his upcoming fight.

Expectations and excitement despite the mismatch

Despite being critical of Paul’s chances, David Benavidez also expressed excitement about the fight. Acknowledging that the card will be thrilling for fans.

“It’s going to be a good card, a great fight. It’s a good fight, really!” he stated, highlighting that the uncertainty and anticipation make the event unmissable, even if the outcome seems predictable.

Benavidez emphasized that his analysis is not intended to diminish Jake Paul. But to underline the magnitude of the challenge he faces.

With Anthony Joshua looking to redeem himself after his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. And Paul riding high on confidence following his victory over Julio César Chávez Jr., the fight promises intense action.
