A’ja Wilson once again proved why she is the newly crowned MVP, leading the Las Vegas Aces to a commanding victory in Game 2 of the series against the Indiana Fever.

With 25 points and 9 rebounds, Wilson overcame doubts from her lackluster performance in the first game, where she missed 14 shots near the basket against Aliyah Boston.

The Aces star stayed composed, adjusted to the pace of the game, and led her team with precision in the paint, scoring 48 points inside compared to Indiana’s 38.

A’ja Wilson shines as Clark and the Fever fall behind in Game 2

Wilson strategic focus was key in neutralizing the Fever attempts to push a fast-paced game.

The Aces defender limited Caitlin Clark and the rest of the team to just 41% shooting, showing a marked defensive improvement from the first game.

According to Indiana coach Stephanie White, “The reality is they came out strong and set the pace. We were on defense, passive, and reactive to everything.”

Wilson discipline and intensity made the difference, leaving Clark without the chance to shine as she did in the first matchup.

A’ja Wilson controls the Game and shifts the series

Beyond her offensive output, A’ja Wilson displayed leadership and defensive consistency, proving why she is an indispensable piece for the Aces.

Her ability to dominate the paint and contribute to transition play allowed the team to capitalize on Indiana turnovers and score on crucial fast breaks.

The addition of NaLyssa Smith, a former Fever player, complemented A’ja Wilson dominance, adding 18 points and drawing nine free throws, further pressuring Clark and her teammates.

The game also made it clear that Clark “black jersey curse” didn’t work this time.

While Wilson remained unstoppable, Clark and Kelsey Mitchell struggled to find the basket, highlighting the Aces’ tactical and physical superiority.

With A’ja Wilson leading the way, Las Vegas cements its role as the favorites in the series, leaving the Fever with an urgent need to adjust their strategy before the Aces star dominates the next matchup.
