Micah Parsons has no doubts, Dak Prescott deserves to be in the NFL MVP conversation, despite the Dallas Cowboys inconsistent season.

The former Cowboys defender praised his former quarterback and included him among the top contenders for this year’s Most Valuable Player award, noting that Prescott continues to display an exceptional level of play that cannot be ignored.

Micah Parsons defends Prescott against criticism

Despite the Cowboys loss to the Detroit Lions, which left Prescott off many analysts’ radar, Parsons insists the QB deserves recognition.

“I don’t think, aside from Stafford, there’s another player playing better than Love. And Dak Prescott is playing very well too,” Parsons said, highlighting Prescott alongside Matthew Stafford and Jordan Love as the league’s current top performers.

For Parsons, the team’s record does not define individual value. The Cowboys’ quarterback leads the NFL in passing yards and has maintained a consistent level of play in crucial moments.

According to Parsons, these statistics prove that Prescott remains a legitimate MVP contender, as long as the team can string together a winning streak to support his candidacy.

Prescott’s challenge and the MVP race

The fight for the 2025 MVP has intensified, with players like Stafford and Drake Maye showing outstanding performance.

Stafford has thrown for 3,354 yards and 35 touchdowns, while Maye boasts an impressive 71.5% completion rate and 3,412 total yards.

However, Micah Parsons maintains that Prescott, despite the loss to the Lions, is still an elite player who can rise to the top if the Cowboys hold their ground in the NFC East.

Parsons also emphasized that, although other analysts like Dan Orlovsky question Prescott’s viability as an MVP candidate after the Detroit setback, the quarterback’s consistency and leadership are more than enough to keep him in the conversation.

For Parsons, it’s not just about the numbers—it’s about the impact Prescott has on the game and the team’s morale.
