Chicago Sky head coach Tyler Marsh broke his silence about Angel Reese’s injury. On Tuesday night, the team ended its losing streak with a win over the Washington Mystics. However, WNBA fans remain concerned about Reese’s health.
Without their star player, the Sky had to adjust their playing style and rely on new leaders with strong potential. That shift may have contributed to the team’s struggles, as they had lost eight straight games before facing the Mystics.
A long recovery continues to impact the Chicago Sky
According to Bolavip, Tuesday’s victory was the Sky’s first since Angel Reese went out with an injury. Based on Marsh’s comments after the game, the forward may not return as soon as fans had hoped.

“There’s no set timetable. As far as I know, it’s a back injury, and she’s still day-to-day… I mentioned before that she wasn’t here to shoot due to an illness. I think she’s making progress, but we still have to wait and see,” said Marsh.
The last time Reese played was Tuesday, July 29, in a game the Sky lost to the Mystics 103-86. Despite dealing with back discomfort, the forward scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in just 32 minutes on the court.
Elizabeth Williams shines in Reese’s absence
Even without Reese, Elizabeth Williams is stepping up for the Sky. Her impact was crucial in the latest win. She replaced Rebecca Allen in the starting lineup, a move that clearly paid off. Williams scored 18 points, making 7 of 11 shots, and added 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal.
“She’s really set the tone with her energy… She’s filled in what we’ve been missing with Angel out. Liz is just a smart veteran,” said Marsh.
