Stephanie White expressed her frustration after Indiana Fever lost a close game to the Los Angeles Sparks. It was their ninth game of the season, an intense battle that ended with the Sparks winning 89-87.

Indiana had shown good form in recent games, but Saturday night’s loss broke their winning streak. The turning point came with Azura Stevens’ double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds, which pushed the Sparks to victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

What does this mean for Indiana Fever?

The defeat disappointed the players, but it hit coach Stephanie White even harder. She sent a strong message to her team, which still has five games left to play this week.

In the post-game press conference, White discussed the tough schedule Indiana Fever is facing this season. However, she refused to use fatigue as an excuse, stating that her team has enough potential to bounce back and fight through physical exhaustion.

“This group is really locked in when it comes to their energy, their effort, and understanding our goals… But sometimes, we need to shift into another gear… If we’re physically tired, we need to fight that with mental sharpness… That’s a skill we have to practice. We have to use it. We have to keep getting better at it,” White emphasized.

White is preparing her team for the challenging road ahead. Despite the difficulties, she believes in her players’ ability to compete. Her biggest challenge? Playing without Caitlin Clark, who is still recovering from injuries, a key absence that weakens Indiana Fever’s lineup.
