Sophie Cunningham played a key role in the Indiana Fever’s win over the Connecticut Sun. Unfortunately, her teammate Aliyah Boston didn’t share the same luck.
Although the Fever defeated the Sun 85-77 at Boston’s TD Garden, it was not Boston’s best performance. She scored just 11 points, made only 2 of 8 field goals, and grabbed six rebounds—well below her season averages of 16.0 points, 57.7% shooting, and 7.8 rebounds per game.
According to a report by Athlon Sports, the Indiana Fever secured their third straight victory of the WNBA season. After the game, Sophie Cunningham addressed the media and shared her thoughts on Boston’s role.

Regarding Boston’s “tough shooting night,” Cunningham made her stance clear:
“She draws a lot of attention… People have to guard her. When that happens, it opens things up for everyone, like Tash. I think she’s one of the most selfless people on our team, and she’s okay with that. And that’s what it takes to win these kinds of games.”
Natasha Howard also highlighted Boston’s impact, emphasizing how she helped create key plays that led to the win. She noted that Boston “had her hands full with Tina (Charles).”
Despite the Fever’s promising position this season, Caitlin Clark suffered another setback, leaving the court near the end of the game with a groin injury. Her teammates and coaches hope her recovery will be swift and won’t sideline her for long.
