Sabrina Ionescu delivered a spectacular performance in the game between the Liberty and the Sparks. She nearly secured the win for her team at Barclays Center, where she recorded 30 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Despite her efforts, the Liberty fell short, losing 101-99 on Saturday night in a closely contested battle.
Even in defeat, Ionescu’s numbers were historic. She became only the fourth player in WNBA history to post such a stat line in a single game. With this achievement, she joined an exclusive group that includes Caitlin Clark, Brandy Reed, and Candace Parker, all of whom have left their mark on the league with similar all-around performances. Ionescu’s ability to impact the game in multiple areas places her among the elite.
A memorable night for Ionescu
According to the New York Post, the 27-year-old guard remains committed to growth and consistency. After the game, she reflected on her mindset, stating: “I just try to play my game and read what the defense gives me… Keep finding ways to facilitate and be the best I can for this offense. Obviously, we had some players out who usually score a lot for us, so we tried to get some easy ones, finding the mid-range shot, getting to the basket, to the free throw line. Just doing what I do every night and finding a way to try to win.”

Ionescu started strong, scoring 17 points in the first half. However, the Sparks defense tightened in the third quarter and the early part of the fourth, limiting her opportunities. Still, she tied the game with just over two minutes to play, then hit two tough jump shots in the final stretch. Alongside Natasha Cloud, who added 22 points, she kept the Liberty within striking distance. Despite their efforts, the team fell just short, but Ionescu’s performance was a clear statement of her talent and leadership.
