Fans of the rookie guard worried about her health after a tense moment in Tuesday night’s matchup between the Dallas Wings and New York Liberty. Paige Bueckers briefly left the court fearing an injury that could sideline her for an extended period.
The WNBA already suffers from the absence of key stars like Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, so losing Bueckers would be another major blow. Fortunately, the young Wings star listens to her body and avoids pushing beyond her limits.
Back tightness forced her off the court
According to Bolavip, during the second half, Bueckers felt a sharp tension in her back. As a precaution, she stepped off the court to recover and make sure everything was fine. Her exit sparked concern among Wings fans, but she later addressed the situation to ease their worries.

As reported by ESPN, the 22-year-old explained: “I was dribbling the ball and felt some tightness… It’s day to day. I hope it doesn’t keep me out. I just need some treatment and a little rest.”
“It’s just a muscle strain,” added the former UConn star. “I felt it tighten up, so I’m just managing it.” She described the strain as “random,” suggesting it’s nothing serious.
Bueckers returned in the fourth quarter after receiving quick massage gun treatment and topical relief. She finished the game with 21 points and four assists, showing no signs of limitation. However, the Wings fell to the Liberty 85-76.
