The Indiana Fever of the WNBA continue making significant offseason moves to strengthen their team. As part of this strategy, they have decided to sign a player who was Angel Reese’s former teammate at the Chicago Sky.
During free agency, the franchise acquired shooting guard Sophie Cunningham and forwards DeWanna Bonner and Natasha Howard. Now, they have added another key piece who could provide strong support for Caitlin Clark.
According to Chloe Peterson of IndyStar Sports, Indiana Fever have decided to bring forward Brianna Turner to the team. This information appeared on the WNBA transaction page. “Some depth for the Fever’s frontcourt,” Peterson wrote on her X account.

Before the 2024 WNBA Draft, the Chicago Sky traded Turner for Kahleah Copper. That same year, Clark and Reese began their professional basketball careers.
Brianna Turner played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2014 to 2019. The Atlanta Dream selected her as the 11th overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft, but she was later traded to the Phoenix Mercury. She spent five seasons with the Mercury, developing into a reliable defensive presence.
Although Turner’s recent statistics may not be outstanding, she brings strong defense and depth to the Indiana Fever’s roster. Her experience could be crucial in reinforcing the team’s frontcourt.
These roster moves, combined with the leadership of Stephanie White, the 2023 WNBA Coach of the Year, reflect the Fever’s clear ambition for the 2025 season. With a core trio featuring Clark, Aliyah Boston, and Kelsey Mitchell, the team is aiming for its first championship title since 2012.
