Natasha Howard returned to Indiana Fever and quickly became a key member of the team. She rejoined the franchise during the 2024 WNBA offseason. Her performance was outstanding, earning her the title of MVP of the Commissioner’s Cup. Recently, FSU Women’s Basketball announced a special honor for her, and the Fever responded enthusiastically.

Howard helped Indiana reach the championship against the Minnesota Lynx. During the regular season, she averaged 11.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals over 44 games. In the playoffs, she recorded 9.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists, showcasing her consistent impact.

A significant milestone for Indiana Fever

According to Athlonsports, Howard is currently a WNBA free agent. It remains unclear whether Indiana will re-sign her, but the team continues to offer support and appreciation. She has left a lasting legacy in the franchise.

FSU announced

that Howard will become the fifth player in Florida State women’s basketball history to have her jersey retired. The ceremony is scheduled for November 16.

Howard undoubtedly deserves this recognition. She played 129 games for Florida State, scored 1,811 points, and set school records with 1,047 career rebounds and 41 double-doubles.

Following FSU’s announcement, Indiana Fever reacted positively. “Let’s go, Tash!” the team wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji.

According to Seminoles.com, the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center will host the ceremony after FSU’s game against Indiana.
