Cameron Brink shared a surprising moment when Steph Curry felt uncomfortable and overwhelmed. Although he’s known as a four-time NBA champion and an eleven-time All-Star, Curry didn’t enjoy a simple visit to an ice cream shop.
Curry has a particular weakness that Brink and his sister Sydel quickly noticed. Brink shared the story on her podcast Straight to Cam, alongside Jamie Jaquez Jr. and Sydel.
Steph Curry felt overwhelmed by strange flavors
According to The Sports Rush, Cameron Brink explained that Steph Curry froze up when they took him to Salt and Straw, a popular ice cream shop in California. “They’re known for their weird flavors,” said Brink. She was surprised to learn that Jaquez had never heard of the place.
“They have a lot of strange flavors,” added Sydel. That comment triggered a memory. “We once took Sydel’s brother to Salt and Straw, and he felt really overwhelmed because there were so many crazy flavors. There was olive oil, and for Thanksgiving, they had stuffing or whatever. **He looked at the menu and got so overwhelmed. He asked, ‘Is it okay if I just get vanilla?’ And we told him, ‘Yes, Steph. It’s okay to get vanilla,’” Brink recalled.
Curry made a smart choice, going for a safe and classic flavor. Vanilla was a good bet, considering he might have disliked something like olive oil ice cream.
Steph Curry is a true food lover. In fact, he acts like a food critic. He has even tasted and rated popcorn in NBA arenas across the United States, evaluating saltiness, freshness, butter, presentation, and crunchiness. Clearly, he knows exactly what he wants when it comes to food.
