Cameron Brink follows a personal ritual to overcome life’s and basketball’s obstacles. For the Sparks’ star athlete, this practice has helped her push through tough moments when things get complicated.

In reality, this 23-year-old is not alone in this approach. Many elite athletes have personal routines that provide them with peace and confidence before and during personal and professional challenges.

How does Cameron Brink face challenges?

Brink opened up in Richer Lives about her personal journey, sharing the highs and lows of her career. She reflected on her struggles, saying, “This is going to sound emo, but… tears dry. Especially dealing with an injury. That was a huge punch to the gut.”

Cameron Brink has played a total of 15 games in the WNBA. However, in such a short time, she suffered a significant setback—an ACL tear in her left knee. This injury forced her into an intense rehabilitation process.

Beyond physical recovery, the mental aspect plays a crucial role, often proving even more challenging. However, her extended time away from the game has given her valuable insights into better ways to navigate difficult situations.

“In athletics, there are so many ups and downs, and your path is truly unprecedented… So I feel like you just have to take those tough moments head-on. You wake up in the morning and say, ‘Actually, that wasn’t as bad as I thought,’” she shared. These words give her the confidence to face whatever comes next.

Brink still has time to fully recover and solidify herself as a top-tier athlete in the WNBA. Next season, she will return to the Sparks, ready to give her all and continue shining as the team’s star.
