On Friday night, Caitlin Clark missed a shot during the game between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream. Returning to the court after missing five games due to injury seems to be taking a toll on her. She only scored 12 points with five successful shots.
Despite that, her teammates shined during the game. Kelsey Mitchell scored 25 points and added three assists, while Aliyah Boston recorded 19 points, six rebounds, and eight assists. Additionally, shooting guard Sophie Cunningham achieved a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, including four three-pointers. Clark spoke about Cunningham after the game.

According to a report from Athlonsports The Indiana Fever won the game 99-82 thanks to their players’ outstanding performances. After the match, Caitlin Clark shared her thoughts on Cunningham: “I mean, she brings that energy every single day.”
“I’m really happy for her. She’s been struggling a bit with her shot, but she shows up and is the same person every day. So we all knew she would heat up and rise, and that’s exactly what she did tonight… She just brings amazing energy. She’s all over the floor diving for loose balls. Her energy is unmatched for this team,” Clark said.
So, beyond any rivalry, Clark made it clear that she admires what Cunningham brings to the team. Even though she may not be seen as a Fever star, Cunningham plays a crucial role, and Clark fully supports that.
Now, the former Iowa star must focus on recovering from her injury and drawing from the energy that defines Cunningham. On Sunday the 13th, the Fever will face the Dallas Wings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, in what promises to be a tough matchup against Paige Bueckers, a strong WNBA competitor.
