On Wednesday, Chicago Sky star Angel Reese posted a reflection about her experience in the recently concluded WNBA season. For her, it ended dramatically but brought valuable lessons and experiences for the future.
Reese is currently in a paradise-like location. She is enjoying much-needed rest and relaxation after a season that was demanding both physically and mentally.
Reese focuses on taking the good out of every experience
According to the New York Post, she posted a message on Instagram reflecting on her journey:
“YEAR 2. You taught me so much. You showed a TON of growth. You fought through SO much adversity. Yet, you still prevailed, still showed up, and God has a plan for you. This is only the beginning.”

She included a highlight reel celebrating her recognition as 2025 Rebounding Leader. The 23-year-old averaged 14.7 points and 3.7 rebounds in 30 games this season.
The Chicago Sky finished with a 10-34 record. In early September, Reese made a comment that didn’t sit well with her teammates:
“I’m very vocal about what we need and what I want… I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t work out, I may have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. While I’m here, I’ll try to keep an open mind and maximize what I have.”
Regarding her future, Chicago Sky GM Jeff Pagliocca recently stated:
“Until I hear otherwise, that’s the direction we’re moving—she’s on the roster.”
So, it seems Reese is simply taking a break before returning to the team to prepare for the next season.
