Angel Reese doesn’t need a basketball to steal the spotlight. The Chicago Sky forward turned the offseason into her personal runway, and she proved it again at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards. Wearing a black sequin mini dress and a satin robe draped elegantly over her arms, Reese posed confidently, greeted the press, and made it clear her presence in fashion isn’t a passing phase. According to Firstsportz, the 6’3” athlete went blonde again—this time with a shorter cut, embracing the current trend.

Angel Reese’s appearance at the CFDA wasn’t random. She’s turned fashion into an extension of her personal brand. After wrapping up her second WNBA season, she decided this break would be about solidifying her status off the court. She had already made history as the first professional athlete to walk the Victoria’s Secret runway. Where her poise and charisma went viral. Since then, outlets like E! News and Vogue have kept tabs on her every move.

A quieter approach

But this year, Angel Reese chose a more reserved strategy. On social media, she responded to a fan who asked why she wasn’t as publicly active. “Staying low, not bothering anyone, so nobody gets in my business.” That line reveals a clear intention. She wants to avoid the trolls who tried to tear her down last year while she built her brand. This time, Reese is focused on what’s good for her—no distractions.

That mindset includes skipping the second season of the Unrivaled league. Last year, Angel Reese was one of the first WNBA players to join the new competition, where she shined with the underdog team Rose BC. Though she missed the final due to wrist surgery, she was named Defensive Player of the Year and helped her squad win the title. This year, the Chicago Sun-Times confirmed she won’t be on the roster, likely due to lingering back issues from the WNBA season.

Angel Reese remains a powerful figure in both sports and pop culture. Her manager, Jeanine Ogbonnaya, has played a key role in her rise, and together they’ve built a brand that goes beyond basketball. While she stays off the court for now, Reese continues to dominate other stages—with style, strategy, and a presence that refuses to go unnoticed.
