Caitlin Clark was one of the WNBA stars fans were eager to see in the All-Star Game. However, her recent injury completely changed the scenario. The Indiana Fever guard will not participate, and that puts the event’s TV ratings at risk.
It’s the first time in many years this has happened. Both basketball superstars will miss the All-Star Game: Clark from the WNBA and LeBron James from the NBA. This represents a major blow to fans of both leagues.
A new injury sidelined Clark
According to a report by The Sun, Caitlin Clark was all set to shine in the three-point contest. In fact, she was going to be the captain of one of the All-Star teams. However, she had to give up her spot to a teammate to start her recovery process again.

She said:“I’m really excited that Indy is hosting the WNBA All-Star this weekend.” “I want to thank the Indianapolis Host Committee and everyone who has worked tirelessly over the past year to organize this event. I know this will be the best All-Star Game yet… I’m incredibly sad and disappointed to say I can’t compete in the Three-Point Contest or in the All-Star Game. I need to rest my body.”
Clark also said she’s excited to support her teammate in leading the team to victory: “I’ll be at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for all the action and I can’t wait to help Sandy coach our team to win… I can’t wait to see you all there!”
In 2024, the All-Star Game reached a record average viewership of 3.44 million on ABC. Unfortunately, that number may not be repeated this year due to the absence of the two biggest basketball stars in the U.S.
