Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 movie grossed over $500 million worldwide and received excellent reviews from fans of the sport. However, Fernando Alonso’s opinion surprised his followers.
The film, starring Brad Pitt, sparked contrasting reactions among F1 drivers, although the overall outcome remains largely positive. Fans now know what veteran Alonso thinks about the production, according to RacingNews365.
A blunt and not-so-interesting opinion
According to Firstsportz, Fernando Alonso, at 44, is the oldest driver in F1. He has competed since 2001, took a break between 2018 and 2021, and won two F1 titles in 2005 and 2006.

When asked about Lewis Hamilton’s film, Alonso said neither he nor Nico Hulkenberg care about what new fans think of F1. His statement surprised followers, as he emphasized that his only focus is winning races and improving his performance on track. He currently sits 11th in the 2025 season standings with Aston Martin.
Alonso stated: “I don’t think Nico or I really care much about what the next generation of fans think. We just try to win races, work with our team as best as we can, and deliver performance.”
He also added: “Fans and people watching on TV don’t have the full picture of what’s happening and the performance gap between cars.” In doing so, he made it clear that TV viewers don’t truly understand what happens on track.
His goal is not to win over F1’s new wave of fans. It’s clear the Spaniard only cares about improving his results, while popularity has taken a back seat for the experienced driver.
