Chelsea is preparing to trade center-back Renato Veiga to Bayern Munich in exchange for defender Kim Min-jae. Last season, Veiga played for Juventus, performing well as a central defender—a role he wishes to continue.

The 21-year-old is highly versatile, also excelling as a defensive midfielder or left-back. Still, according to a report by Sportskeeda, Chelsea is willing to let him go and bring in Kim as a replacement.

Kim Min-jae joined Bayern Munich in 2023, and his contribution was crucial to the team’s 2024-25 Bundesliga title. Now, Chelsea wants the 28-year-old South Korean defender in return for Veiga.

The London giants also have Trevoh Chalobah, a key player in their FIFA Club World Cup victory. However, reports suggest that Chelsea wants Kim to lead the defensive line ahead of the upcoming season. Will it happen? It seems likely, as negotiations are underway.

Another reinforcement for Chelsea

Meanwhile, the British club has opened talks to sign Jorrel Hato, who is currently under contract with Ajax until 2028. However, the Dutch side is demanding €60 million to release him. Experts believe the deal could close for around €40 million.

Hato has shown strong performance as a left-back and center-back, scoring three goals and providing six assists last season with Ajax. He mainly played at left-back, and would undoubtedly be a great addition to Chelsea’s squad.
