Blame it on the wagers, wobbly strokes—or maybe just one too many celebratory gulps.

A bear in the distance

According to reporting from Marca, things took a surreal turn at hole 16, when the action stopped abruptly after a black bear appeared behind the tee box. The bear was fenced off, but close enough that tournament officials hit pause for safety. Phones came out, the crowd buzzed, and both Travis Kelce and Jason stayed cool—unshaken by the unexpected guest.

Many had hoped to see her cheering on the Chiefs’ tight end, but she didn’t make an appearance on day one. Still, Kelce kept the energy flowing, having warmed up earlier with a karaoke session where, rumor has it, he applied some techniques borrowed from Swift herself.
