Kansas City Chiefs on the ropes: here’s what the team’s real playoff outlook looks like

Recognized as one of the NFL’s finest, When it comes to football, Travis Kelce is a beast—no one questions that. But once he steps out of his comfort zone, things can get a little trickier. That’s what Kelce recently shared while reflecting on his 2023 hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, where he ran into a few… technical difficulties.

The charm of Travis Kelce extends well beyond the field. As Taylor Swift’s high-profile boyfriend and occasional accidental actor, Kelce has found himself stealing scenes more often lately. The camera clearly loves him—but even so, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end admitted that breaking into television hasn’t been all smooth sailing.

In a recent appearance on the podcast Bussin’ with the Boys, Travis Kelce looked back on that SNL weekend with a mix of pride and PTSD. It was thrilling, yes—but also nerve-racking. The root of it? Script reads had Kelce sweating bullets.

Reading was a real challenge for Travis Kelce

With his signature self-deprecating humor, Travis Kelce laughed off the experience, admitting he’s “not the best reader.” He added that the table reads for the show were intense. “I just didn’t want to mess up a line,” Kelce confessed, saying he spent most of his mental energy trying to get through the script without errors instead of fully performing the parts.

Despite those jitters, Travis Kelce didn’t stay away from the camera. He later hosted a reboot of the classic game show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?”—revamped as “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” So yes, Kelce went from fumbling through sketches to running trivia like a champ.

Although he hasn’t retired from football—Travis Kelce renewed with the Chiefs through 2025 and continues to be a vital part of Patrick Mahomes’ offense—Hollywood keeps knocking. Kelce has made guest appearances on TV shows, starred in big-name commercials, and co-hosts the award-winning podcast New Heights with his brother Jason.

Plenty of doors are open for Travis

With an estimated net worth of over $90 million and a cultural reach that goes beyond sports, Travis Kelce is well-positioned to grow into a full-blown media figure. Plus, let’s not forget he’s dating one of the world’s most influential pop stars. Still, Kelce admits he may need to brush up on his ABCs if he truly wants to make it in the acting world.

Travis Kelce has the “it” factor

While many athletes stumble trying to force their way onto the screen, Travis Kelce stands out by not taking himself too seriously. He owns his flaws, laughs through the awkward bits, and shows up anyway. That’s what makes him more relatable, more charming—some might say, more Travis. Whether on the field or in front of the camera, Kelce continues to prove he’s built for the spotlight.
