Travis Hunter sat down for an interview where he answered a series of questions about his likes and dislikes. While some of his responses were simple, one final confession left his fans speechless.

The Colorado Buffaloes player made an unexpected revelation. Contrary to what many believed, he isn’t as much of a risk-taker as he appears on the field. He made this clear in a short video he posted on Instagram as part of a sponsored collaboration.

What is Travis Hunter afraid of?

In the video, Travis Hunter hinted that he doesn’t like the ocean. Instead, he prefers fishing in a lake rather than venturing into deep waters. “Believe me, I’ll go fishing in a lake, not in the ocean… It’s just too risky,” he said confidently.

He went on to explain why he avoids fishing at sea. “I don’t like the waves, and I don’t want to get seasick… I’d rather just go to a lake, fish, and be done with it.” His admission surprised many of his followers. For an athlete who excels as both a wide receiver and cornerback, a fear of the ocean was not something they expected.

No fear when it comes to the NFL

While he may avoid the ocean, Hunter has no fear of success on the football field. At just 21 years old, this University of Colorado graduate has already made a name for himself as one of the most promising young talents in football. His outstanding performances in college football have fueled high expectations for this year’s NFL Draft.

However, Hunter made a strategic decision—he chose to skip the NFL Combine. Instead, he is saving his skills for his Pro Day, scheduled to take place between March 18 and 21, 2025. With scouts and analysts eagerly awaiting his performance, Hunter is determined to prove that he belongs among the top prospects in the draft.
