According to Essentiallysports, the announcement marks a key moment in Hunter’s career, as he works to strengthen his image while facing a tough injury period.
Recovery in progress
Travis Hunter underwent surgery on his right knee after damaging the lateral collateral ligament during practice. Doctors confirmed his ACL was intact and said he should return to full activity in six months. The Jaguars placed Hunter on injured reserve October 31, ending his debut season.
The 2024 Heisman winner had played 67% of offensive snaps and 36% of defensive snaps, proving his versatility as both receiver and cornerback.
Jaguars and the playoff picture
While Travis Hunter focuses on rehab, Jacksonville remains strong in the AFC South. Their 48-20 win over the Jets pushed the team to 10-4 and secured the No. 3 seed in the conference. Trevor Lawrence led with five touchdown passes and more than 300 yards, confirming his hot streak.
The Jaguars now hold a 96% chance of reaching the postseason. Even though Travis Hunter isn’t on the field, his media presence reminds fans that the franchise’s future is also being built beyond the stadium.
