Tom Brady won seven Super Bowls, led historic franchises, and redefined longevity in professional sports. But now, off the field, the legendary quarterback faces a new kind of challenge: staying healthy while juggling a nonstop schedule. In the October edition of his newsletter 199, Brady revealed that his post-retirement pace has taken a toll. He also shared that he recently got sick due to accumulated stress.

According to Marca, Tom Brady confessed he felt drained while taking care of his kids after school. “Last week, everything caught up with me,” he wrote. Although he didn’t go into medical detail, he did reflect on the importance of listening to your body. “No matter how careful or healthy you are, if you’re in different places every week and interacting with lots of people, eventually you’ll catch something,” he added.

A packed agenda

Life after football is anything but quiet for Tom Brady. In addition to being a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, he has a broadcasting deal with FOX worth hundreds of millions. He also runs his collectibles company, CardVault by Tom Brady, and regularly appears at public events alongside figures like YouTuber IShowSpeed. His presence in media, business, and the NFL keeps him constantly on the move.

Still, this health episode doesn’t seem to have slowed him down completely. Tom Brady recently appeared on FOX’s NFL broadcast during the Eagles vs. Giants game. With no scheduled TV commitments for Week 9, he seems to be taking the opportunity to recharge. His newsletter 199—named after his iconic draft pick in 2000—has become a personal space where he shares thoughts on leadership, wellness, and life after football.

What’s clear is that Tom Brady remains a role model, even when showing vulnerability. His message isn’t just for retired athletes—it’s for anyone living under pressure. The body needs rest too. And if the man who defied time in the NFL is now allowing himself to slow down, maybe it’s time we all take note.
