The New England Patriots selected Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft. He became the most successful player in professional football history with that franchise.

He was pick number 199, a figure that turned into a powerful symbol of perseverance. Nobody expected the quarterback to achieve such success or to lead one of the greatest dynasties in the NFL.

A true football star and role model

Brady changed the course of the league. According to Mundo Deportivo, after his rookie year as a backup, Brady became the starting quarterback when Drew Bledsoe got injured. That season, the Patriots won their first Super Bowl, defeating the Rams 20–17.

In total, Brady reached nine Super Bowls with the Patriots, winning six titles in 2002, 2004, 2005, 2015, 2017, and 2019. During the regular season, he played 285 games, throwing for 74,571 yards and 541 passing touchdowns.

After two decades with New England, Brady left the Patriots and signed a $50 million, two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led the team in the playoffs and captured his tenth Super Bowl appearance, adding another championship to his name.

After winning seven Super Bowl rings, Brady announced his retirement, shocking fans worldwide. Two weeks later, he reversed his decision and returned with the Buccaneers for the 2022 season. The outcome was not what he or his fans expected.

In February 2023, Brady retired for good, releasing an emotional video: “I’m retiring for good. I know the process was a big deal last time. So this morning I just pressed record to let you all know first. You only get one super emotional retirement announcement, and I already used mine last year. Thank you all so much for supporting me. My family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors—there are too many to count. Thank you for letting me live my dream. I wouldn’t change a thing. I love you all.”

Without a doubt, Tom Brady is an NFL legend—feared by rivals, loved by fans, and respected by everyone. He remains an inspiration for future generations.
