As the NFL training camp approaches, the Cleveland Browns are facing increasing turmoil. While they made the playoffs in the 2023–24 season, this year their situation appears chaotic, and new players are only adding fuel to the fire.
Deshaun Watson has underperformed over the past three years, and now Shedeur Sanders and Quinshon Judkins are making things even harder for the Browns. Will the team be doomed to a rough start this season? Will things improve along the way?
A string of personal mistakes seems to be hurting the team
It appears that the personal actions of newly acquired players Sanders and Judkins could impact the NFL team negatively. Shedeur Sanders was fined for speeding, while Quinshon Judkins was arrested after being accused of domestic violence by his partner. All of this is unfolding while the team still hasn’t decided on their starting quarterback for Week 1.
This cut by Quinshon Judkins just made me LOL.
Look how smooth he is flipping his hips and changing direction. 👀#Browns #DawgPound #NFL

According to a report by Marca, the Browns player’s arrest could bring serious contractual consequences. On July 12, police arrested him in Fort Lauderdale after his partner filed a domestic violence complaint stemming from an incident on July 7. The police report alleges Judkins assaulted his partner, and he was released on a $2,500 bond.
This could become a major issue, as his position as the Browns’ starting running back might be in jeopardy. It would be unfortunate if he lost that chance due to his personal troubles. Moreover, he still hasn’t signed a contract, and his four-year, $11.4 million deal could now be at risk.
“This contract situation… means he could be in limbo and miss valuable training camp time for multiple reasons… In such cases, the NFL starts investigating immediately,” said Zac Jackson of The Athletic during his appearance on The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima on 92.3 The Fan.
