As the hours pass, Super Bowl LIX, scheduled for Sunday at 6:30 p.m. in New Orleans, draws closer. With it, tension rises, and predictions about who will win between the Chiefs and the Eagles increase.

Sports journalist and broadcaster Stephen A. Smith is among those who have made an interesting prediction. On ESPN’s “First Take,” he spoke about who will take the victory and which player could win the game’s MVP award.

What does Stephen A. Smith think will happen in Super Bowl LIX?

“Ladies and gentlemen, Patrick Mahomes is that guy, but not this Sunday… The Philadelphia Eagles will capture the Super Bowl championship, and Jalen Hurts will win MVP,” Smith stated.

If this turns out to be true, the Kansas City Chiefs will not achieve their goal of becoming three-time NFL champions in this Super Bowl. Additionally, this would also serve as revenge for the Eagles, who lost to the Chiefs two years ago in this same stage.

It is a somewhat bold prediction, as Philadelphia is one point behind, according to ESPN BET. Even more surprising is the claim about the Super Bowl MVP award, as running back Saquon Barkley has a chance to surpass Hurts.

However, that prediction could come true if Barkley plays as he did against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game.
